Bio
Francisco López (Tarragona, 1959) is full professor of Food Technology at the Departament d’Enginyeria Química of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, and teaches at the Faculty of Oenology in Tarragona, Catalonia (Spain). The teaching and research activity focuses on the wine field, mainly in the elaboration and treatment of wines, vinegars and spirits, working especially in processes of membrane separation and adsorption for the stabilization of wines and vinegars. He also works on the development and formulation of new vinegars and condiments. He is currently working on distillation strategies of brandy spirits to minimize defects and improve their aromatic profile.
