24/02/25 – Origin Basics

In this session, Dr. Mayreli Ortiz introduces participants to OriginPro, a leading software for data analysis and graph creation, available at VirtLabs. Tools for spectroscopic and electrochemical signal analysis, curve fitting and peak analysis, signal processing, and ANOVA statistics are explored. A practical training session to make the most of OriginPro.

31/03/25 – Balanced Teams Basics

In this third edition of Monday Basics, Barbara Vastenavond introduces the Belbin Roles, a key tool for creating balanced and efficient teams. The session explores the 9 essential roles, how individual strengths and areas for improvement impact team dynamics, and strategies to align roles and maximize performance. A practical session to enhance collaboration and build cohesive teams.

28/04/25 – Lab Basics: micropippetes

In this session, Carmen Bermudo teaches techniques for the verification and readjustment of micropipettes, an essential skill to ensure precise and reliable results in the laboratory. Participants will learn how to optimize the use of these instruments to improve their accuracy and reproducibility in daily work. A key training session for any scientific environment!

26/05/25 – Style Guide Basics for Writing Institutional Texts in English

In this session, led by Núria Juanpere, participants learn how to write institutional texts in English clearly and effectively. As transmitters of knowledge, universities must be rigorous in their use of language to describe reality in an accessible way. The session will cover spelling, punctuation, capitalization, abbreviations, numbers, and translation criteria.

30/06/25 – Biorender basics

In this session, led by Dr. Mayreli Ortiz, participants discover BioRender, an intuitive tool for creating clear and professional scientific figures. The session explores its key features, from using templates and specialized icons to best practices for effectively representing visual data. An essential training to enhance graphic communication in research and scientific publications.

28/07/25 – Clipchamp & Stream Basics

In this session, Jordi Barrero will introduce participants to Clipchamp and STREAM, two intuitive tools for video creation and editing. The session will explore basic functions, from clip editing and adding effects to exporting videos in professional quality. An ideal training for those looking to start producing audiovisual content easily and effectively.

29/09/25 – Houdini Basics

In this session, Dr. Laura Escorihuela introduces participants to Houdini, providing practical tips for creating and managing URV websites. Key aspects will be covered, including template selection, content editing, element customization, and best practices to make the most of the dynamic and fixed formats offered by the Houdini web management system.

27/10/25 – Experiments bàsics per divulgar la ciència

In this session, Barbara Vastenavond and Carmen Bermudo present five simple experiments to introduce science to young children using household materials. The session explores techniques to make scientific concepts more accessible and visual, fostering curiosity and active participation among preschool and primary school students.
