Universitat Rovira i Virgili

What do we do?

Monday Basics: Training & Coffee is a transversal training space designed to foster an open and collaborative learning community within Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). This initiative was created to leverage collective knowledge and enhance interaction between PDI, PTGAS, and students, offering monthly sessions where participants can share experiences, acquire new skills, and build professional networks.

Unlike conventional training programs, which are often one-directional and formal, Monday Basics promotes a dynamic and participatory model, where any member of the university community can act as either a participant or a trainer. This approach enables bidirectional knowledge exchange, strengthening a rich and engaging learning network.

The sessions cover cross-disciplinary topics relevant to various professional profiles, including digital skills development, academic communication, team management, and data analysis. This flexible methodology allows training to be tailored to participants' real needs, fostering a more applied and collaborative learning environment.

Beyond providing training, Monday Basics also offers professional growth opportunities for trainers, allowing them to showcase skills and competencies that may not always be visible in their daily roles. This facilitates peer recognition, enhances visibility, and creates new collaborative opportunities within the university.

Through Monday Basics, the Department of Chemical Engineering fosters a culture of shared knowledge, interaction, and continuous learning, consolidating itself as a more connected, dynamic, and innovative unit.
